Social Program

The conference offers a social program aimed to compliment the working of the scientific sessions.  Your partner, if accompanying you on your visit to Melbourne, is welcome to join in the social events (They do not need to register to attend the conference, but for some event fees will apply)
 
Social events include
 

 

  • Walking tour of Melbourne’s Koori heritage
    Learn about the Aboriginal people, the traditional owners of the land.

 

  • Hosted dinners at great Melbourne restaurants

 

  • A Gala Dinner at the Melbourne Museum
          ‘A great caterer has the taste of a chef, the imagination of an artist and the timing of a conductor’ - Peter Rowland OAM
    The catering will be by the renowned Peter Rowland who has a long and considerable history in designing unique and creative menus and providing mouth watering experiences.


The Museum is centrally located and can be accessed by a tram, taxi or a pleasant 15 minute walk from the Central Business District –evening shoes can always be accompanied in a carry bag for those of you wishing to arrive by foot. 

 

  • The excitement of an Australian Rules Football match
    Experience the die-hard sporting culture of the city by attending a  football match at the Etihad Stadium a multi-purpose sports and entertainment stadium in the Docklands precinct of Melbourne. The stadium has been host to other sporting events, including regular soccer matches cricket, rugby league and rugby union, and several specialised events and concerts famous artists. KISS performed on 28 February 2003, with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, for their live CD/DVD, Kiss Symphony: Alive IV.
