Information for Presenters, Speakers and Moderators

This area of the website is designed for speakers, and to inform them about the venue and processes we have in place to support them, and to help everything to run smoothly.  Every session at the AM has a moderator, and this area will also be useful for them.

This area of the website is under active development (Feb 2011).  New links will be provided as they become available.

Send the Annual Meeting organisers information about your paper and presentation for safe keeping and publication in the ISPSO library

Pre-symposium
• You will receive the full paper at least 6 weeks prior to the June AM. You will need to read it and become familiar with the content and have some main points in mind
• Presenters have been asked to make strong links with the theme of the AM, Regeneration in Organisation: psychoanalytic perspectives. In your role of moderator and peer review/support, you are asked to consider whether this has been achieved and to offer suggestions for strengthening links.
• Make contact with the presenter and offer feedback, support and suggestions for improving the paper.
• Consult the presenter about the style of presentation and encourage the speaker to present in ways that will engage the audience.
• Correspond with the convenor with any concerns or questions that you may have in taking up the role.

On the day
• To keep time in the session ensuring (in the case of multiple papers) that each paper within the session has equal time.
• To introduce the speaker.
• To lead, manage and facilitate the discussion in the room.
• To have an active role, not only containing boundaries but also perhaps putting questions and challenges where these are not coming from the floor.
• To leave time at the end for the presenter to respond.
